Taking place on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 7:00pm at SFU Woodwards, two short talks by Vancouver-based practitioners Derek Deland and Clint Sleeper will enlighten audiences on architecture inspired by skateboard culture, and on sound art past and the nature of things to come.

Derek Deland is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, and is presently an intern architect and design principal at formLAB Design. He has been involved in the design of several skateboard parks in recent years.

Clint Sleeper is an MFA student at Simon Fraser University, and is cofounder of the Robot Versus Future Collective. He writes and performs under the guise of Praying for Greater Portland, and plays guitars and electronics in a band called Sex Detectives Duh.

Deland and Sleeper will speak in Room 4390 in SFU Woodwards, located at 149 West Hastings Street in Vancouver. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
