This fall, the AIBC Gallery is featuring select entries from the recently held FUTURESOCIAL ideas competition. Jointly supported by the University of British Columbia’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and the BC Ministry of Housing and Social Development, this social-housing design competition stimulated numerous innovative design ideas for supportive housing to combat homelessness.
In challenging UBC students to develop innovative architectural designs for social housing, FUTURESOCIAL resulted in over 50 UBC students working to imagine new supportive social housing that best responds to homelessness in contemporary Vancouver.
The exhibition runs from November 9, 2009 to January 5, 2010 at the AIBC Gallery, located at #100 – 440 Cambie Street in Vancouver.
