The launch for the Winnipeg Design Festival takes place at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in the John A. Russell Building, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba.

As part of Storefront Manitoba’s mandate to advance the awareness and appreciation of design and the built environment, the Winnipeg Design Festival is an annual open and public event that aims to share, discuss, promote, and celebrate design culture in the Province of Manitoba. The talk will discuss the what and why of the festival and share this year’s exciting events with the audience. The 2013 Winnipeg Design Festival theme is encapsulated in a single word:

Lunch will be served at a nominal cost of $5.

Later in the day, a lecture by Vladimir Belogolovsky introduces the exhibition Harry Seidler: Architecture, Art and Collaborative Design.
