The work of Halifax architect Brian MacKay-Lyons will be exhibited at the Centre de Design de l’UQAM in Montreal at 1440 rue Sanguinet from November 18 to December 19. The firm has developed a consistent body of work based on a modern regionalist architectural language which combines the use of archetypal forms with local building practices. The work has gained both a local and international audience and has been widely published. The buildings which the office has designed have received over 50 awards for design, including four Governor General’s Awards – Canada’s highest award for architectural excellence.
