DX UNCRATED is an exhibition at Toronto’s Design Exchange that features iconic pieces of the Design Exchange’s permanent collection, which celebrates Canada’s rich industrial design history from 1945 to the present. The exhibition opens on June 16, 2012 in the Patty Watt Room of the Design Exchange.
Spanning over five decades, the Design Exchange’s permanent collection covers more than 600 industrial design objects and archival materials including furniture, housewares, textiles, electronics, and lighting. DX UNCRATED illustrates political, technological and social changes that occurred following World War II up to modernity. Items on display include the famous Clairetone Project G Stereo, the Thomas Lamb Steamer Chair, and the Cervélo Racing Bike.
