Doors Open Calgary…do YYC naked!

Get ready for Calgary to bare it all this weekend in Calgary!  On Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30, 2012, Doors Open YYC Naked takes place – a city-wide event that invites people to see and experience aspects of buildings and spaces that have never been shared before. For two days only, the public is granted access – free of charge – to 35 premier sites for exclusive tours, events and insider information sessions that allow them to get to know Calgary in a way that has never been possible before.

Doors Open is a well established and highly successful international concept that allows people free access to buildings and spaces in order to build civic pride, create enthusiasm for heritage and contemporary architecture, and increase the appreciation of historical and culturally significant places and spaces.

Doors Open YYC is being planned and organized by the Doors Open Calgary Association (DOCA). DOCA is a registered non-profit organization under the Alberta Societies Act and exists solely to plan and execute an annual Doors Open event in Calgary, beginning this year.

Highlights of this year’s event include: the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, the Calgary Civic Complex, the Calgary Civic Tower, the ENMAX Downtown District Energy Centre, the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts, Fort Calgary, and the Simmons Mattress Building.
