Architecture for Humanity presents the 3rd annual Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE! Sure to inform and delight, this event promises to attract the best and brightest in humanitarian design and development. A practitioners’ forum of innovative panel discussions and workshops, the event takes place from November 12-13, 2012 in San Francisco. Design Like You Give a Damn: LIVE! aims to provide the best programming yet and will qualify AIA members for six learning-unit hours.
The two-day event brings together designers, architects, real estate professionals, manufacturers, academics, philanthropists, media and business leaders to address the challenges and lessons learned in humanitarian design. Panel topics address cutting-edge topics relevant to the field and workshops allow participants to gain hands-on knowledge from expert panelists.
A Design Open Mic allows emerging and established designers and architects to present their humanitarian projects and design ideas in an engaging seven-minute Pecha Kucha-style format. All are encouraged to sign up: the theme is innovative, community-centered design that is both inspiring and buildable.
The cost of registration is $75 for general admission; $30 for student registration; $50 for Architecture for Humanity chapter members; and free for volunteers.
