Canadian Institute of Steel Construction announces Quebec award winners

The Quebec regional chapter of the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC/ICCA) has annouced its 17th Awards of Excellence in Steel Construction, in a ceremony held at the Centre des congrès Palace in Laval.

The following projects were recognized:

Stairs and architectural handrails:

  • Passerelle Cyclable, Îles Vessot – presented to team members Acier Profilé SBB, Luc Desmarchais Architecte, CLA Experts-Conseils, VET Dessin, Bernard Malo, Ville de Joliette

Commercial and institutional projects: 

  • École de technologie supérieure, Maison des étudiants – presented to team members MSDL Architectes, SDK et associés, Decarel, École de technologie supérieure (ETS)

Industrial projects:

  • Siège social et centre de distribution Jean Coutu – presented to team members Canam-Bâtiments, division de Groupe Canam Gross, Kaplin, Coviensky Architectes SDK et associés, Groupe Montoni, Le Groupe Jean Coutu

Projects outside Quebec:

Multipurpose trail linking Hunt Club and the Southeast Transitway (Ottawa, Ontario) – presented to team members  Canam-Ponts, division de Groupe Canam Delcan, A Parsons Company, Louis W. Bray Construction, City of Ottawa

Residential projects and renovations:

Centre de céramique Bonsecours – presented to team members Cube Architecture, Latéral s.e.n.c., De la Spatule au Pinceau, Le centre de céramique Bonsecours

Bridge projects:

Pont des Allumettes, (Îles-aux-Allumettes, Qc) – presented to team members Canam-Ponts, division de Groupe Canam Delcan, a PARSONS Company, Tenca Steel Detailing Inc., Pomerleau, Travaux Publics et Services Gouvernementaux Canada

Jury’s choice:

Amphithéâtre Cogeco – presented to team members Canam-Bâtiments, division de Groupe Canam, Paul Laurendeau / Francois Beauchesne / Architectes en consortium, Stantec, Ville de Trois-Rivières
