The Bienal of Miami/Miami Beach, is part of a series of events during Architecture Week created by a collaboration between the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the International Interior Design Association (Florida Chapter), the American Society of Landscape Architects (South Florida Chapter), the Ball State University (Tropicalia Program), Competitions Magazine and the Pan-American Federation of Architects Associations.
The events will take place in Miami/Miami Beach as part of Celebrating Architecture between November 1 and 11, 2007.
The main objective of the Bienal is to integrate all the architects and designers from around the world who wish to celebrate their profession by participating in one week of exhibitions, conferences, competitions, workshops, social activities and seminars. In order to meet those goals the Bienal is counting on the sponsorship of numerous organizations dedicated to the advancement of design.
The Bienal will be held at the Miami Beach Art Deco Interpretative Center located in the heart of the Art Deco District and in other traditional places such as the City of Coral Gables and the Miami Design District. The exhibitions will display a wide variety of works of international architects and designers that will present their projects while participating in the different categories that qualify for the Bienal’s various prizes and awards.
A recent full-color book containing the winning projects and several essays of all previous editions of the Bienal Miami+Beach will soon be available for purchase through the Competitions Magazine and website.
