A Conversation with Omer Arbel

February 10, 2014
by Canadian Architect

Vancouver designer Omer Arbel, a jury member for Design Exchange’s RBC Emerging Designer Competition, will chat with Toronto’s Kenneth Montague, the founder and director of Wedge Curatorial Projects at 6:30pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Toronto’s Design Exchange.

Montague, an art collector extraordinaire, probes Arbel about his creative process, major projects, and his tips for young designers looking for their big break. Arbel is the creative force leading Omer Arbel Design, a multidisciplinary design practice responsible for the bulbous light installation that sweeps across the ceiling above the bar at Toronto’s Bosk restaurant, and he designed the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Medals for the Vancouver games. Arbel is also the creative director for Bocci, a design and manufacturing company whose stunning glass orbs embellish homes and restaurants across the globe.

Tickets are $16, and free for DX members. Ticket price includes admission to  the This Is Not A Toy exhibition. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit
