The Signatures Auction is Toronto’s interior design community’s one-night fundraiser benefiting the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario’s (ARIDO) student membership. Original painted ceramic bowls donated by established and emerging designers and interior design industry members will be auctioned off at Haworth’s Toronto showroom at 55 University Avenue. Participating in this year’s Signatures Auction are Pat Cooper-Slipper and Jane Juranek (both ARIDO Award-winners this year for their MacDonnell Haynes Advertising & Design Ltd.), and Theo West-Park, current ARIDO President and winner of a 2009 ARIDO Award for Cara Corporate Headquarters. West-Park is also the recipient of the Shaw Contract Award 2010.
The Signatures Auction takes place on Thursday, November 4 at 5:00pm, and will celebrate this year’s theme – “Your Inspiration for Creativity.”
Event proceeds go toward funding CTI Working Environments Student Scholarships, ARIDO. Going into Signature’s third year, CTI is funding five scholarships, with the goal to increase the number of scholarships to eight following this event. These scholarships award students who go beyond the written curriculum; the students best exemplify dedication and enthusiasm in giving back to their community and volunteering for ARIDO.
ARIDO represents over 1,800 registered and intern interior designers practicing corporate, residential, retail, hospitality and health-care design. Their eye-catching work increases efficiency, productivity, value, safety and well-being. By giving legal standing to the designation of Interior Designer, the government bestows on the title a new measure of respect and recognizes the high standards of education, training and formal examination that professional interior designers undergo.
