The Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA), the Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba (PIDIM), and the Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects (MALA) will celebrate outstanding contributions to the social, cultural, artistic and economic development of the province of Manitoba and the enhancement of the quality of life through excellence in design with the reintroduction of the Premier’s Award for Design Excellence (PADE). Two types of awards may be awarded: Award of Excellence and Award of Merit.

Categories are as follows:

Architecture
Submissions of all scopes of architectural built work completed in the last 5 years.

Interior Design
Submissions of all scopes of interior built work completed in the last 5 years.

Landscape Architecture
Submissions of all scopes of landscape built work completed in the last 5 years.

Small Projects
Submissions of all scopes of built work completed in the last 5 years.

Student Projects
Submissions of all scopes of work, built or unbuilt, completed in the last 5 years.

Except for the Student Projects category, unbuilt work will NOT be adjudicated. Unbuilt work denotes work that is of a theoretical or conceptual nature that is not built or work for a client that has not yet reached the final stages of construction.

To be eligible, all entrants must be residents of Manitoba, although projects need not be located in Manitoba. Entrants must be a registered/professional member of the Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA), Professional Interior Designers Institute of Manitoba (PIDIM) and/or the Manitoba Association of Landscape Architects (MALA) as appropriate for the category of submission. Registered/professional members and intern/provisional/associate members of any of the three associations are eligible to submit to the small projects category. Student members of any of the three associations, who are currently enrolled in an accredited school of design in architecture, interior design or landscape architecture are eligible to submit to the Student Projects category.

Entrants may submit as many entries as they wish in any of the categories. A separate entry form and appropriate fee must accompany each entry for each category. The fee for members (including interns) of MAA, PIDIM or MALA is $125.00 per entry (plus GST), and $50.00 per entry (plus GST) for student work. Each entry must include between 3-5 digital images from the entry submission, as well as an image of the board submission and a brief description summarizing the project (no more than 100 words). The images of the board(s) submission will be used for the purpose of reprinting, being displayed at various venues and on the internet. These electronic submissions will become the property of the Associations. Images may be used to illustrate future materials. Electronic files must be at least 300dpi (1200 dpi for logos) and be saved in a .jpg or .tiff format along with a .pdf version and submitted on a CD/DVD/flash drive.
The Manitoba Association of Architects will be accepting cheque or money order payments only. Please make your cheque or money order payable to The Manitoba Association of Architects.

Jury members shall be announced at a later date.

Submissions must be received no later than 1:30pm (CDT) on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at: The Manitoba Association of Architects, 2nd Floor, 137 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 0R3.
