Architecture Canada | RAIC names Ewa Bieniecka as Regional Director for Quebec

Ewa Bieniecka, MIRAC, has been named Quebec Regional Director for Architecture Canada | RAIC. She replaces Jean-Pierre Pelletier, FIRAC, who assumes the position of 1st Vice President.

A Montreal native, Bieniecka graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1982, followed by a post-professional Master’s degree in 2004. She is currently an architect with Montreal’s Arcop Architecture Inc.

In a career that spans some 30 years, Bieniecka has developed specialized experience with major projects and the rehabilitation and restoration of heritage buildings such as the West Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. She is currently working on the reconstruction of the Grande Allée Armoury in Quebec City.

Throughout her career, she has put her professional experience to work for the community, participating as a member of the Montreal Heritage Council and teaching at McGill University’s School of Architecture.

Bieniecka wants to build on the experience of other national and international organizations, so that RAIC undertakings, including the annual Festival of Architecture and the honours and awards program, gain more visibility and become drivers of excellence for Quebec architects.
