Outdoor entertaining expert, creative innovator and business guru Andrew Bockner officially takes over the internationally known luxury outdoor business, Andrew Richard Designs (ARD) and presents its newly expanded showroom and event space.
With a commitment to offering consumers the best retail experience possible, this expansion adds an additional 3,500 square feet to ARD’s downtown showroom and event space at 571 Adelaide Street, which now opens up to Toronto’s King East Design District. The brand-new modern gallery-like space presents endless possibilities for event rentals, weddings, and so much more.

Introducing ARD’s brand new 2015 collections: Origin and Baya that originally debuted at the 2015 Interior Design Show. Both collections embody the authen-TEAK trend focusing on natural wooden elements infused with a modern design aesthetic.
The Origin collection weaves the rugged, weathered look of reclaimed teak with the finest stainless steel—a perfect marriage of shabby chic and country farmhouse trends.
For the straight-out-of-the-forest look, Andrew’s Baya Collection is made from live edge teak which is reclaimed from salvage trees. The rich contours of these completely customizable tables add sculptural quality that command attention and conversation.
To kick off the newly launched showroom space, Andrew will welcome its first artist showcase: Getting to Know You by Canadian artist and renowned painter Samara Shuter from May 8-10, 2015, In support of the Ignite the Spark Fund and the Children’s Aid Foundation.
Building upon her earlier work, Shuter’s second solo show and newest collection of large-scale work features bold colours, sophisticated line-work and striking figurative renderings paying homage to ubiquitous menswear and the beauty of a perfectly tailored suit. Attracted to symmetry and elegance, Shuter identifies the suit as the most impactful, yet basic uniform and explores its association with male dominance and societal pressure.
Originally a Montreal native now living and working in Toronto, Shuter is a self-taught artist whose work has been showcased at the Rockefeller Center in New York City and at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. She has also collaborated on special projects with Facebook, Timberland Shoes and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
