Several Canadians are among the winners of the 31st Annual Architecture in Perspective awards, given by the American Society of Architectural Illustrators.

The winners of Awards of Excellence include Ontario architect Howard Rideout, Norm Li, Jon Soules, and Jose Trinidad. Gary Chan of FORREC won the Taidgh McClory Rendering Juror Award.

“Given I’m not a professional illustrator, I was humbled to be included among recipients,” writes Rideout in a blog post. “Ironically, the illustration would not have come to fruition had it not been for a negative turn in the Chinese economy. After spending the better part of the last decade working in Asia as a ‘imagineer’ (the guy who comes up with the unprecedented concept for large scale projects), I found myself with a little time on my hands.”

The awards will be given out in Boston during the American Society of Architectural Illustrators’  2016 Conference, from September 28-October 2, 2016.

The American Society of Architectural Illustrators’ 2015 conference was held in Toronto last fall.
