AIBC offers architectural walking tours in Vancouver and Victoria this summer

The Architectural Institute of British Columbia’s Architectural Walking Tours program offers unique perspectives of the cities of Vancouver and Victoria. Those interested are invited to take advantage of six distinct tours in each city. In Vancouver, these tours are focused on: Gastown, Chinatown, Strathcona, Yaletown, West End, and Downtown. In Victoria, these tours cover: Inner Harbour, Fort Victoria, Chinatown, Ecclesiastical, Art Deco & Moderne, and James Bay.

Summer tours are offered throughout July and August. Tours are limited to 20 people, determined on a first-come, first-served basis, and begin at various locations throughout the city. Check the tour descriptions closely and keep your eyes open for the AIBC logo and your tour guide.

Tours are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours long. It is recommended that you arrive at the tour start location at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Depending on which tour you choose, we walk distances of up to 3 kilometres (2 miles).

Comfortable walking shoes and loose-fitting clothing are recommended. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat on sunny days. A light jacket and an umbrella are a good idea if it is raining.

The cost for each tour is $10 per person. Group tours are also available.
