2012 RAIC Festival of Architecture courses filling up fast
The Festival of Architecture is the annual conference for architects across Canada. It focuses on architects’ contributions to the improvement of today’s world, the built environment, sustainable urban development and social commitment, as well as the importance of architecture. There will be continuing education courses, the RAIC Gold Medalist presentation, social activities, awards and the RAIC Fellows’ Convocation.
Taking place from June 13016, 2012, this year’s Festival theme is “Deep Roots in a New Energy City,” reflecting the conference city of St. John’s, Newfoundland. One of the oldest cities in North America, St. John’s is where warm, friendly faces are waiting to welcome you to their eclectic town. Hike the rugged coast as you pass 10,000-year-old icebergs, look into the depths of a striking fjord, or dance a jig to the rhythms of an East Coast fiddler.
Continuing education courses are filling up fast and they are first-come, first-served, so register now by visiting http://festival.raic.org/reg_e.htm.
Rooms are also filling up at the Delta St. John’s Hotel and Conference Centre, the Festival’s host hotel, so book quickly at http://festival.raic.org/accom_e.htm#delta. Located in the heart of downtown, the hotel is in close proximity to the financial, business and entertainment centres and enjoys a spectacular view of the St. John’s Narrows.
