2011 Toronto Society of Architects Year-End Bash is tomorrow!

A cocktail reception takes place on November 29, 2011 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in Baillie Court at the Art Gallery of Ontario, located at 317 Dundas Street West in Toronto.

The annual Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) Year-End Bash is a favourite event on the design calendar. This year, they put out a call to the membership for venue options and received some terrific suggestions. Open to members, supporters and their guests, the Bash helps TSA to fulfill its mandate “to promote and celebrate architecture.” Each year, the Bash recognizes a “great space in Toronto”. After last year’s quick sellout of tickets, they are delighted to announce that the venue for this year’s Bash has been changed from the previously announced Terrence Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research at the University of Toronto to the Art Gallery of Ontario in order to better accommodate the anticipated increased number of attendees. The Art Gallery of Ontario, designed by Gehry Partnership, also features the recent addition of the Weston Family Learning Centre designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects. Please join friends in the design community to celebrate architecture and design on November 29th!

The Bash will provide a unique opportunity for guests to tour this remarkable building, one of the most famous additions to Toronto’s built environment. At 5:30pm, a tour of the new Weston Family Learning Centre will be conducted by Hariri Pontarini Architects. This is open to TSA members only due to limited capacity, and pre-registration is required. And from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, tours of the AGO by an AGO educator will leave every half hour from Baillie Court on a first-come basis. This is open to all guests of the Bash.

Tickets, which include food, can be purchased in advance online at http://tsa-bash2011.eventbrite.com. This year, the TSA is offering early-bird ticket pricing ($10 for TSA members and $20 for all others) that will be in effect until Friday November 18th, after which ticket pricing will increase to $18 for TSA members and $25 for all others. There will also be a cash bar.

Please note that last year’s bash sold out completely, so those interested in attending should buy tickets soon!
