2009 Toronto Urban Design Awards
Every other year, the City of Toronto holds Urban Design Awards to acknowledge the significant contribution that architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, design students, and city builders make to the look and livability of our city.
The 2009 competition offers the opportunity to receive city-wide recognition from a jury of urban visionaries. All entries will be showcased in an exhibition at City Hall from September 14-21, 2009, and award winners will be announced and celebrated at a ceremony on September 21, 2009. The submission deadline is 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
The City of Toronto will accept entries for the 2009 Toronto Urban Design Awards in the categories listed and described below.

2. Buildings in Context – Private
3. Buildings in Context – Public
4. Small Open Spaces
5. Large Places and Neighbourhood Designs
6. Visions and Master Plans
7. Student Projects
This year’s jury is comprised of Ian Chodikoff, editor of Canadian Architect magazine; Jack Diamond, principal of Diamond & Schmitt Architects Inc., Eha Naylor, principal of of ENVision – The Hough Group Limited, and Michael Van Valkenburgh, principal of Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc.
