2006 RAIC Festival to be held in Vancouver
Vancouver is the place to be this June 14-17, 2006 as the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada joins together with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia for its annual Conference and Festival of Architecture. The theme this year is Habitat Reloaded – The Power of Architecture. Making this an even bigger event than years past is the fact that it will immediately be followed by the UN Habitat World Urban Forum. In celebration, plans are underway for a “Super-Saturday” on June 17, which will bring together attendees from the RAIC, AIBC, and the planners and landscape architects who are also holding their national conferences at the same time. The Festival, as always, will include continuing professional development courses, exhibitions of architectural work, social events and architectural tours of Vancouver’s attractions.
The RAIC Festival is an annual event that takes place in a different Canadian city each year offering delegates a chance to exchange ideas and attend credited professional development courses, and listen to some of the profession’s most forward thinkers.
The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada is a voluntary national association established in 1907 as the voice for architecture and its practice in Canada. Representing more than 3,200 architects, the RAIC provides the national framework for the development and recognition of architectural excellence.
