2005-2006 Vancouver Lecture Series on Architecture + Design features Tadao Ando
Created in 1979 by four local architects, the Vancouver League is a registered non-profit society whose goal is to provide a forum for the discussion of current ideas in architecture and environmental design. The League produces an annual lecture series as well as architectural exhibitions, design competitions and events devoted to local design issues.
Since 1980, the Lecture Series on Architecture + Design has brought some of the world’s most forward-thinking designers to Vancouver: those with distinguished bodies of work as well as emerging designers on the brink of global renown. As a common source of information and dialogue among different disciplines, the lectures are popular events for both the design community and the general public; lectures typically draw on attendance of 300 people.
