On December 5, 2012, Quebec City and the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications presented the 2012 Architectural Merit awards, which annually recognize efforts to beautify the province's capital city.
This year, 14 certificates of recognition were awarded to architects who have completed projects in Quebec City over the last year. In the category "Hommage," a 15th prize was awarded to architect Michel Galienne, crowning his career with ABCP architecture which ended in 2008.

Renovation & Enlargement of Existing Housing: Résidence Bilodeau-Larrivée by BouchardBoucher architecture
Renovation of Housing: Gauvin & Arata Residence by Gina Gauvin and André Arata
Heritage Award: Welcome Pavilion, Cimetière Mount Hermon by Association du Cimetière Mount Hermon/René Saillant, architect
New Construction, Commercial/Industrial: Parquet Royal by Pierre Martin Architecte
Renovation of Existing Commercial/Industrial: Édifice A - Hydro-Québec by Groupe A (Bélanger Beauchemin Morency architectes et urbanists)
Public & Institutional Building: Québec Acquarium – School Group Pavilion by Brière Gilbert et associés architectes
Award for Reuse: Maison Loyola (National School) by Brière, Gilbert et associés architectes
Award for Signage: Café Krieghoff by Kathy Rioux
Municipal Building Award: Welcome Pavilion, Parc Linéaire du Lac-Saint-Charles by Brière Gilbert et associés, architectes and Pavillon des Arts, Cégep de Sainte-Foy by Groupe A (Bélanger Beauchemin Morency architectes et urbanists)
Special Jury Award: Édifice Administratif GlaxoSmithKline by Coarchitecture/François Courville, landscape architect
Hommage: Michel Gallienne, architecte
