Oppositions: Architecture on Film for February

2013-02-16

Presented by the Toronto Society of Architects and Hot Docs, this monthly series at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema in Toronto offers insights into the role of design in the built environment, by presenting pairings of films that have opposing themes related to issues of design and cultural development. Each film in the series will be followed by a brief discussion from directors, practitioners, academics and activists, and will be moderated by the Toronto Society of Architects.

See both films and save! Tickets are $11 per film, or $15 for both films ($12 for Bloor Hot Docs Cinema members).

For the month of February, the theme of “Factions & Fictions” in this film pairing focuses on the contrast between real and imagined realities, and their unique roles and influences in the design of the built environment. Children of Men screens first at 6:45pm on Thursday, February 21st, followed by Edward Scissorhands at 9:00pm.
