The Gladstone Hotel’s 10th annual alternative design event takes place from Thursday, January 24 to Sunday, January 27, 2013. Experience 25 installations, 40 artists and 4,000 people all in under four days!
Come Up To My Room (CUTMR) is the Gladstone Hotel’s annual alternative design event. CUTMR invites artists and designers to show us what goes on inside their heads. Coming together in dialogue and collaboration, participants are limited only by their imaginations, making CUTMR one of the most exciting shows in Toronto.
As this is an important anniversary for this ever-expanding show, the 10th installment will emphasize the idea that formed the basis for the very first CUTMR – occupying and altering a space in a dramatic, conceptual, or experimental way.
Founding curators Christina Zeidler and Pamila Matharu return this year and are joined by Noa Bronstein and David Dick-Agnew.
Taking place on the building exterior, the café, the ballroom and the second-floor gallery, exhibition hours are: Thursday 6:00-8:00pm, Friday 11:00am-8:00pm, Saturday 11:00am-10:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm.
The opening reception takes place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 7:00-11:00pm on the second floor of the hotel. The Love Design Party runs from 10:00pm-2:30am also on Saturday, January 26, 2013: this is the official closing party for the Toronto Design Offsite Festival.
On Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 1:00-3:00pm, a panel discussion entitled Evolution – Designers Conversations in a Collaborative City will be conducted in the Gladstone Ballroom.
