Will Alsop: Preparing for Architectural Practice


Famed British architect Will Alsop, recently named Distinguished Visiting Practitioner in Architecture at Ryerson University in Toronto, will deliver a lecture to Ryerson students and faculty in the Department of Architectural Science on Tuesday, November 24 at 7:00pm.

 

Entitled “Preparing for Architectural Practice,” the lecture will be accessible live to a worldwide audience via a webcast at http://ryecast.ryerson.ca/13/live/85.aspx.

 

Alsop is one of the most prominent UK architects and is known around the world for his avant-garde, modernist style. Since his foray into architecture at the age of 16, Alsop has completed projects in England, Wales, France, Germany, The Netherlands and in Toronto, including the Alsop Toronto Sales Centre, the Sharp Centre for Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), and his current project, the Westside Lofts. An Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), he has set up practices in Beijing, London, Shanghai, Singapore and Toronto.
