ResilientCity.org International Design Ideas Competition

ResilientCity.org is holding a design ideas competition to raise awareness in the architecture, planning and engineering communities of resiliency as a central strategy for dealing with the future impacts on our cities of peak oil and climate change. It is the intent of the competition to generate imaginative and useful design and planning exemplars that effectively illustrate ResilientCity planning and design principles.

Participants may submit one or more design ideas for the four building design and urban design scenarios. Each scenario represents an important opportunity to imagine a more resilient, post-carbon urban design or building design strategy. Prizes include a first prize of $1,000 CDN (any category); a building design second prize of $500 CDN; an urban design second prize of $500 CDN; and publication of winning and honourable mentions on the ResilientCity.org website.

The submission deadline is August 31, 2009.
