2009 Canstruction winners announced
Hosted by the Cadillac Fairview Corporation, this annual charity event is presented by the Society for Design Administration Canada, and is supported by the Consulting Engineers of Ontario and the Design Exchange.
Teams of architects, engineers, and students mentored by these professionals, compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. This year, the 11th annual Toronto design/build competition invited teams of architects, engineers, and students mentored by these professionals, to compete in designing and constructing giant structures made entirely from cans of food. All of the canned food utilized in the structures was donated following their display in early November in downtown Toronto. The display sites include the TD Tower, TD Waterhouse Tower, Canadian Pacific Tower, Royal Trust Tower, Ernst & Young Tower, the Design Exchange, and Simcoe Place.

Honourable Mention: Stand Out Against Hunger by Shore Tilbe Irwin and Partners Architects
Honourable Mention: Solving the Mystery of Hunger by Turner Fleischer Architects Inc.
